Pathways Planning Information Nights


The Halton District School Board now offers more than 70 regional programs geared to better meet individual needs, helping more students succeed in their chosen pathway after high school, whether they are pursuing apprenticeship, college, community, university or the workplace.

The upcoming Pathways Planning Information Evenings allow parents and students to explore all of the opportunities that high schools have to offer in Halton.

Join us at 6:00 pm on any of the following Pathways Planning Information Nights:

MILTON
Tues. November 11, 2014 at Milton District High School (396 Williams Avenue)

BURLINGTON
Thurs. November 20, 2014 at Robert Bateman High School (5151 New Street)

OAKVILLE
Tues. November 25th 2014 at Garth Webb Secondary School (2820 Westoak Trails Blvd)

ACTON
Thurs. November 27, 2014 at Acton District High School (21 Cedar Road)

OAKVILLE
Tues. January 13, 2015 at White Oaks Secondary School - North Campus (1055 McCraney Street East)

GEORGETOWN
Thurs. January 15, 2015 at Georgetown District High School (70 Guelph Street)

MILTON
Tues. January 27, 2015 at Craig Kielburger Secondary School (1151 Ferguson Drive)

BURLINGTON

We encourage you to attend our upcoming Pathways Planning Information Evenings to find out more information about the new and innovative programs that are being implemented by the Halton District School Board and how to plan for them in your child’s years at high school. No need to register and please feel free to bring your child along.

We have found these nights very useful for all students Grade 7 to 12 opening their eyes to the many excellent engaging programs regardless of their chosen post-secondary destination. These programs are designed to help set students on the road to success during and beyond high school.

Come out with your child and get more information on how to better prepare them for a rapidly changing world, at the same time as receiving a relevant, engaging and active education that meets the individual interests and needs of students.

Agenda for each night:
6:00 to 6:30 - Pathways displays and meet the teachers of over 70 programs
6:30 to 7:15 - Pathways presentation (including information on planning tools)
7:15 to 8:00 - Pathways displays and specific workshops

Workshops include additional information on:
- the Specialist High Skills Major and OYAP programs
- Grade 7 and 8 preparation for high school
- the employability skills certificate program
- students and parents new to Canada

These programs include the Specialist High Skills Major programs, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs, Specialty School to Career programs, The Employability Skills Certificate program, Dual Credit college programs, Grade 8/9 Transition programs and more.
