Parent Engagement in Ontario

Recently our PIC (Parent Involvement Committee)  representative attended a meeting at the Board.  The role of the representative is to relate information regarding parent engagement at the local school level.  The Superintendent of Education sent out an email in which he forwarded the following:

      

     Attached is a Ministry powerpoint presentation which shares the
      importance of parent engagement, system strategies and also
      highlights various supportive Ministry resources.  You may wish to
      share all/part of the presentation with your School Council and/or
      school community so that they may develop greater awareness of parent
      engagement within the provincial context.

Please take some time to have a look at why it is important to get involved at your child's school.
